For my Nalewka Zosi project, I made several characters to accomodate the logotype. They were heavily inspired by Polish tourism posters like this one: http://media.smashingmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/images/polish-poster-design/norblin_gdynia.jpg
This weekend I spent some time expanding it out to a full 26 character set. I’d like to finish up the marks and extra characters soon too. It’s pretty heavily derivative from the posters, but I’ve normalized the quirkiness a bit.
Type fiends give me your critique.
These turned out pretty alright. (Taken with instagram)
goin through my portland pics so i can post the few good ones, but i had to make this first quick. my lil’ bro catching some SICK AIR.
what a buncha tools…starting a new project.
11 was tricky. Went back to the moon for inspiration.
Apparently I’ve had the moon on my mind lately.
Apollo 11 had 3 crew members, 3 back-up crew members, 12 support crew members, and 3 flight directors. Countless other NASA employees manned mission control in assisting 3 men to travel to the moon and to come back home. They say it takes a village.
We can’t all have a mission control, but we can work together to accomplish anything. So whether it’s launching a spacecraft, or launching a campaign, teamwork is key. Put me on a team and I’ll fill my niche, whether it’s stepping on the moon, or stepping up and leading.
12 o’clock is just a barrier, but it’s never stopped me. I’d probably cast myself as a night-owl; getting my most creative after hours. While it’s also no mistake everyone’s out celebrating their love and I’m at home cracking away at another project, I know when to step away from the keyboard and relax a bit.
Like happy hour, beer me.
watch me try to get an internship with illustrations and an attempt at copywriting for myself.
There are 12 months to a solar calendar, but 12.41 lunar cycles. The 13th moon is thus forced to straddle the line between one year and the next. The odd man out. Some suggest that cultures with lunar-solar calendars considered the 13th moon unlucky, and 13 has had a bad rap ever since.
I’d hate to refer to myself as “the odd man out,” or even “the odd man in,” but maybe put differently, I’m the one who’ll think of that crazy, impossible, 13th idea.
Besides, without an odd man out, who’s going to tip the ball at the pickup game?
since i haven’t posted in a while (dangit!) here are some little things i made for an annoying thing. digital things have been going this way this week. inspired by tim boeelars boellars boelaars icons. monostroke can be a blast.

worked on this the past couple nights. the perspective got a little forced on the nose, but it was good practice.
